Book Launch Party for The Overlords: Mission of the Kings

Mike's book launch party for his latest novel, The Overlords: Mission of the Kings, was a great success! Friends and fans showed up at Stillwater Books in Pawtucket, RI to hear Mike talk about the history of The Overlords, his inspirations to create the epic fantasy series, a reading from his new novel, and refreshments. Mike even recorded a live nterview before the event on Max Bowen's Citywide Blackout podcast. Below are some pictures from the event.

The Overlords: Mission of the Kings is Live!

Mike is thrilled to announce that the fourth installment of his Overlords Fantasy Book SeriesThe Overlords: Mission of the Kings, is now available for purchase! The thrilling final saga to Harrison Cross' quest to reunite humanity does not disappoint! Below is the cover design that graphic design artist Patrick Thompson created. As you can see in the first sketch, Mike chose to go with the image from the upper right-hand corner and Patrick brought it to life. At this time Mike is setting up book signing events, which are updated on his Events page, with more sure to be added in the very near future.

Books can be purchased (both paperback and eBooks) here on Mike's website, on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or select local RI bookstores. The book launch party for The Overlords: Mission of the Kings will be on Friday, October 4th at Stillwater Books in Pawtucket, RI. Mike will have copies of all his Overlords books available for sale, as well as a book reading of his new novel, refreshments, and fun for all. This event is FREE to the public. Hope to see you there. Be sure to visit The Overlords Book Series page on Facebook and leave a comment or two on how much you love his new book!

Tampa Bay Comic Con

Mike, along with fellow Association of Rhode Island Authors Tabitha Lord and Heather Rigney, attended the Tampa Bay Comic Con August 2nd-4th at the Tampa Bay Convention Center in Tampa, FL. This Con was fantastic, the best one by far! Mike participated on five panels throughout the weekend, made scores of new Overlords fans, and sold out of his books! Here are some pictures from the event and you can see the whole album at this Facebook link. We'll defintiely be back next year!

Joseph G. Luther School Visit

On March 1st, 2019, Mike visited the Joseph G. Luther School in Swansea, RI, teaching three session of students the finer points of character creation, world building, and creating stories using plot points. After the brief talk, Mike led the kids in a fun-filled and raucous Monster Creation Session. The children had a great time, as you can see! Click here for more photos of Mike's visit.

The 6th Annual Rhode Island Authors Expo

On December 1, 2018, Mike joined over 130 of his fellow ARIA friends at the 6th Annual Rhode Island Authors Expo. The free event was held at the Rhodes on the Pawtuxet in Cranston, RI and will showcased local talent of all genres.  The event included presentations and panel discussions, live radio interviews by WEMF Boston, a Writer's Resource Area, an interactive Children's Corner, fantastic raffle prizes, and even a visit from Santa! Pictured with Mike is horror writer, Christa Carmen, NASA scientist, Kim Arcand, and headliner Rebecca Harrington.

Rhode Island Comic Con

On November 2nd to 4th, 2018, Mike attended Rhode Island Comic Con in Providence, RI along with eleven of his fellow Association of Rhode Island Authors! Like last year, Mike was on an Exploring Real World Conflicts in Otherworldly Settings: The Intersection of Storytelling and Morality in Science Fiction panel and sold Overlords books to a whole new set of fans. As you can see, there was plenty of fun to go around!

Upcoming Winter School Visits

Mike's going to be very busy the first few months of 2019, making visits to the Joseph G. Luther School (Swansea, MA) and Pawcatuck Middle School (Pawcatuck, CT), as well running a Science Fiction and Fantasy Workshop at the Barrington (RI) Public Library and presenting Social Networking, Self-Marketing, and Self-Promotion at the Warwick (RI) Public Library. Though he's booking up fast, there's still time to schedule Mike to visit your school or library. Here's a collection of photos from schools he's visited in the past:

Merrimack Valley Halloween Book Festival

Can you say, what an awesome book event??? When you throw horror writers like Joe Hill, Chrisopher Golden, Rio Youers, Paul Trembley, Kristin Dearborn, and so many more, into a FREE book event at the Merrimack Valley Halloween Book Festival, how can you NOT have an unbelievable event. It was great catching up with all of my horror friends and I'm already looking forward to more events with them in the coming year.

From Writing to Teacher

From time to time, Mike guest blogs on other literary and author sites.  A few weeks ago he guest blogged on the Fictional Cafe's site with an article titled "From Writing to Teaching."  Mike talks about giving back to the community while expanding your writing portfolio.

The Big Apple Comic Con!!!

On March 11th and 12th, 2017, Mike participated in the Big Apple Comic Con with six fellow Association of Rhode Island Authors (ARIA) at the Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City!  The Overlords fared well in its first exposure to the Big Apple, selling books and making more contacts in the Con world. Mike was also part of a panel discussion called, "World Building in Science Fiction and Fantasy: The Essentials" and even attended Big Apple Comic Con's creator Mike Carbonaro's wedding!  Here are some pictures from the weekend.  Visit Mike's Big Apple Comic Con Facebook Photo Album to see even more photos.
