Harrison Cross was born an only child, raised in the town of Aegeus by his parents, and lived there throughout his childhood. His parents preached righteous values that they required him to follow. Harrison heeded the ways of his parents and grew up to be a very likeable child and young adult.
As a child, it was evident that Harrison possessed uncanny strength and agility. He was able to wield mock weapons with either hand, and won many awards at skills contests. Though his father was not the warrior type, he knew his son had the tools to become a great warrior. For that reason, he allowed Harrison to practice as a fighter. .
When he was twelve years old, Harrison became eligible to enter the Aegean Academy to begin his training to become a fighter. The town elders picked him as the boy who had the best chance to become the next great leader of the Warriors of the Blade. The Warriors of the Blade were a collection of fighters who wielded weapons of piercing – axes, swords, etc. Harrison’s skills were in keeping with this group, and he honed them to an expert level. Combining his fighting skills with his personal values, Harrison chose to follow the beliefs of
paladins, who were fighters that believed in righteousness at all costs. .
Harrison heard the news about his parents while he was at the Academy. His parents were trade merchants who frequently bartered their wares in other villages. On their way to Argos, a band of Scynthian warriors attacked their convoy, mercilessly slaughtered the group of six couples, and left their bodies to rot. Upon hearing the news, Harrison was heartbroken. With no other relatives in the town, the elders at the Academy decided to give the young warrior free room and board. He greatly appreciated their generosity, and vowed to work hard to become a great warrior. .
At the age of sixteen, on more than one occasion Harrison accompanied groups of seasoned fighters to search for historical artifacts and treasures. The excursions allowed Harrison to partake in relatively light combat adventures. By the time he reached the age of twenty, Harrison was the best prospective warrior ever to attend the Aegean Academy. Marcus had watched Harrison’s progression to warrior status ever since he was a boy, and lobbied to the elders to allow him to partake in the journey to find the Treasure of the Land. .
