One of the original Overlords, King Holleris ruled over the land with his fellow lords, Ballesteros, Nicodemus, and Solaris for many years before an ideological shift fractured the group. Holleris felt an iron fist approach to ruling the land was necessary in order to keep the peasants in line. A large army equipped with the finest armor and weapons would be useful to collect taxes and tariffs he believed, much to the chagrin of the other kings.
Ballesteros, Nicodemus, and Solaris felt a democratic government would serve the people best, creating the Legion of Knighthood to further foster their beliefs. The division between the men took a turn for the worst when Holleris decided to divorce himself from the shared rulership. On one infamous day, Holleris summoned his most powerful mages who cast a spell over the remaining kings, suspending them in time where they could see all, but do nothing. Unbeknownst to Holleris, his fellow lords had a counterattack already planned and when the wicked king took action, the benevolent rulers did the same. Holleris was banished to the isle of Dragon’s Lair where he could live for an eternity, but if he ever stepped off his island he would perish into a pile of dust. For a thousand years the energy of both spells kept all rulers at bay, but a young man named Harrison Cross, along with his adventurer friends, set the wheels in motion to end the feud once and for all.
