The Overlords
For those of you reading this for the first time, The Overlords is a trilogy written by Mike Squatrito. It is set in the fantasy genre, and has been an ongoing project of mine for the past eleven years. I either found your email address, got it from you, or got it from a friend of yours! Please continue to read this newsletter, and visit my website!
What’s New
Congratulations to the New England Patriots for winning Super Bowl XXXVIII!!!! I was holding off the newsletter’s release until after the game, just so that I could congratulate the winning team. That had to go down as one of the best Super Bowls of all time. Also, thanks to everyone who came over to watch the big game. We had a great time, and it was nice to see some people I hadn’t seen in awhile. I think this might become an annual event. Let’s hope the halftime shows get a little more revealing too! Unfortunately I missed Ms. Jackson’s topless act due making sure the beer was still cold and there was enough food left for the second half!
I have also noticed that several email addresses have been coming back as unknown recipients, such as Bridget Bidlack, Andy Deousa, and Rich Sganga to name a few. If anyone has their addresses, can you please forward them to me? Also, I need addresses of the old Raytheon and IBM gang, so if anyone has a list of them, can you also forward them to me? Thanks.
About The Project
My multi-talented editor, Diane Beaulieu, will be taking my final(?) revision of Legend of the Treasure for one last look through. Now that the big game is over, I will compile my list of agents and publishers and get my submissions out to them ASAP.
In the meantime, book two, The Talisman of Unification, is being worked on. I already have parts of twenty chapters written, and I still have a long way to go. I never do anything small, do I? I’ll be giving you periodic updates on this story as well.
Excerpt of the Month
The following excerpt is when Harrison and Lord Nigel Hammer are trapped alone in the maze of lions:
“A just man does not kill to gain respect,” said Harrison.
“Don’t knock it, boy. You’d be surprised the respect you gain.”
“Stop calling me ‘boy’,” said Harrison. “I am a warrior, just as you.”
Nigel stopped and grabbed hold of Harrison’s arm. “You are a boy until you earn my respect,” he said, pointing a finger in Harrison’s face. “Don’t forget that.”
