SCROLL OF THE OVERLORDS

Unraveling the Dark Secrets of the Overlords Mythology

Issue #16 August 28, 2004

The Overlords

For those of you reading this for the first time, The Overlords is a trilogy written by Mike Squatrito.  The story is set in the fantasy genre, and has been an ongoing project of mine for the past eleven years.  I either found your email address, or got it from you, or from a friend of yours!  Please continue to read this newsletter, and visit my website!

What’s New

Can you believe we are approaching the end of summer?  Where did it go?  Laura, my editor, reviewed the work I sent her and there were only minor modifications to be made.  Of course, I received her second bundle of 130 pages a  few days later and have just completed my work on that.  I’ll be sending her my revisions tomorrow, but she already said her third set of markups will be on the way soon.

 About The Project

With the sending out of the second bundle, that makes 243 revised pages out of the 690-page story.  The goal is to complete the entire book by the end of the year, then go out and try to get it published.  After Laura has given the book a final thumbs up, it is going on the shelf!  I won’t be revising it any more, and will concentrate on Book Two.  I’m sure I’ll have some more editing once a publisher picks me up, but until that time comes, I’ll be done.

In between editing, I’ll be looking into revamping my website.  If you haven’t noticed, my Links page has some entries with very old information, and I need to get that cleaned up.  Also, I know I have said in the past that I’ll be posting some pictures, but this time I mean it!  I’ll let you know when the website reconstruction is complete.  Don’t worry, the site will still be available during this time.

Miscellaneous Events

This past weekend I participated in a charity golf tournament with three friends – Bill Alexander, Jim Brady, and Arlen Jones.  After a day of golfing, we attended the post-tournament dinner and participated in a raffle.  We won the grand prize – a round of golf at Carnegie Abbey.  For those who don’t know, this is an ultra-exclusive golf course on the shores of Narragansett Bay in Portsmouth, RI.  The package is worth in the neighborhood of $2000 and we’re set to play on September 13th.  To check out this unbelievable course, go to www.carnegieabbeyclub.com.

I also have a couple of questions for you all.  Can everyone see this newsletter properly?  Some people have said that it is appearing with a white background and light blue lettering.  There should be a BLACK background.  Please let me know if you are having problems with viewing the newsletter.

Is anyone here working at RITE Solutions?  If so, I’m in the same building!  Stop by and say hi!

Lastly, has anyone heard from Rich Sganga?  His last email address is no longer valid and I have no contact information for him.
