SCROLL OF THE OVERLORDS

Unraveling the Dark Secrets of the Overlords Mythology

Issue #25 December 10, 2005

The Overlords

For those of you reading this for the first time, The Overlords is a trilogy written by Mike Squatrito.  The story is set in the fantasy genre, and has been an ongoing project of mine for the past eleven years.  I either found your email address, or got it from you, or from a friend of yours!  Please continue to read this newsletter, and visit my website!

What’s New

I’ve got plenty of news for everyone this month.  First and foremost, I accepted a position at Raytheon and will be starting there on January 9th, 2006.  It’s been a long journey trying to find a job and I’m thankful that the process is over!  Now I have the next month to get my Christmas shopping finished and all my affairs in order before I start working again.

In other news, a 10-year old boy from St. Luke’s School in Barrington, RI asked me if it would be all right to read my book and submit questions to me – the author – as part of a class assignment.  How could I refuse!  I went to high school with the boy’s mother and so far the news from her is fantastic.  Her son finished the book in a week – he couldn’t put it down, reading the last 100 pages in a single day!  I’ve let three kids read my story and all of them have raved about it.  I’m in the process of trying to schedule a time to speak at St. Luke’s about The Overlords, how the story came to be, and writing in general.  I’ll keep you posted.

About The Project

I’ve finished the first pass of the Talisman of Unification!  As the story stands now, I have 625 pages and 35 chapters to the sequel of Legend of the Treasure.  I’m in the editing process now, which I feel I do very well.  It’s good to get the story out of my head and into the computer, that way I have something to work with.  The story is rough, but all the major ideas are there.  Give me a few months and I’ll have this story ready to go to the editor.

With all this good news happening in such a short time, I’ve decided to self-publish Legend of the Treasure.  I’m going to look into companies that can help me with this and hope to get started after I start my new job (I’m going to need some cash on hand for this!).  I’ll keep all of you posted on my progress, since I’m expecting everyone to buy at least one copy of the book, which I’ll personally autograph, of course!  I figured it’s about time to let everyone get a chance to have their own copy of the story, since you’ve all been patiently waiting several years now.  Hold on just a bit longer, that’s all I ask!

Lastly, here’s wishing everyone a Happy Holiday season and a wonderful New Year.  If you’re planning a New Year’s Eve party, don’t forget about me!  I’m always up for a fun time!
