The Overlords

For those of you reading this for the first time, The Overlords is a trilogy written by Mike Squatrito.  The story is set in the fantasy genre and has been an ongoing project of mine for the past fifteen years.  I either found your email address, got it from you, or from a friend of yours!  Please continue to read this newsletter and visit my website!

What’s New

Overlord Enterprises keeps rolling along!  Thanks to my loyal fan base, the book signing at A Novel Idea in Bristol, RI on August 5th turned into a personal book sale best – 24 copies sold!  I can’t thank all of you enough!  The unofficial tally is now around 160 books sold and counting.

Another Overlords feature article also appeared in August, this one in the Newport Daily News (Newport, Rhode Island).  Many of you saw the article, including people I haven’t seen in years.  I thank all of you for your wishes for good luck and success.

If you missed the article – fear not!  I have revamped the website to include reviews, newspaper articles, and even a photo gallery.  Stop by the updated site and let me know what you think.

You will all have a chance to see me in public again, this time in Newport, Rhode Island at the annual Taste of Rhode Island event at the Newport Yachting Center along America’s Cup Drive.  I’ll be signing copies of Legend of the Treasure there on Saturday, September 23rd and Sunday, September 24th from 11:00 to 6:00.  Hope to see you there for a couple of days of purely Rhode Island fun.  Be sure to bring some friends and stop by and say hi.  By the way, I like Heineken ….

I know I’m sounding like a broken record, but if you have read the book, please write a review on Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com.  If your child has read the book, please put his or her review online for them.  This is my biggest way of getting worldwide exposure and I’m asking for just a few minutes of your time.  Everyone has been so supportive thus far, and this is your way to tell the world.

Lastly, it’s back to school time and I’ll be contacting local area schools this week to see if they are interested in having in to speak to their classes.  If you have kids in school, 5th grade on up, feel free to mention me to their writing/reading teachers and have them contact me.

About The Project

I’ve finished my second pass on the Talisman of Unification!  You think Harrison and his buddies had it tough in the first book – you should see what happens in Book Two!  I’m not ready to give any details just yet, but rest assured, I’m making good progress.

Is there any interest on having a book discussion?  I’d  be willing to throw my hat into that arena, kind of like a meet and greet with the author to talk about Legend of the Treasure in more detail.  I’m currently in the works with a good friend of mine to have her book club read my novel, followed by a talk and book signing.  Food for thought.
