The Overlords

For those of you reading this for the first time, The Overlords is a trilogy written by Mike Squatrito.  The story is set in the fantasy genre and has been an ongoing project of mine for the past fifteen years.  I either found your email address, got it from you, or from a friend of yours!  Please continue to read this newsletter and visit my website!

What’s New

The Overlords keep on rolling!  November 2006 is shaping up to be a very big month for my book and special events.  On November 1st, I attended a Scholastic Book Fair at St. Philomena’s School in Portsmouth, RI.  I was the only author present and sold 20 books in two hours!  I met a bunch of great kids, and I was asked to come to their school for a talk about writing and being creative, which I will be doing on Friday, December 1st.

On Wednesday, November 29th, I will be speaking at my good friend, Gail Alofsin’s Dynamic Business Marketing class at the University of Rhode Island.  This speech is geared toward Writing and Publishing, specifically drawing on the experiences I have encountered on my journey to get the book published.  And, there will be a student journalist who will cover the class and interview me afterwards for an article in the URI alumni magazine, QuadAngles.  They’re bringing a photographer to boot!  I’ll keep you posted on when the article will appear.  Also, this class is open to the public – contact me for more specific information, or visit my Events link on my website.

Finally, on Saturday, November 25th, I will be signing copies of my book at A Novel Idea in Bristol, RI from 11:00 to 2:00.  This is the first big Christmas shopping weekend of the season, and what a great gift a personally autographed book would make!!!  Hope to see you at these events.

School teachers – where have you gone?!?!  I’m ready to make my school visits, but I haven’t heard back from a lot of you.  Please keep me in mind!

Get those Christmas gift book orders in to me soon.  I should have plenty of books for everyone, but the closer we get to Christmas, the harder it will be to get it to you on time.

About The Project

The Talisman of Unification is coming along.  I’m up to chapter 7 on my third pass, and will be working on this book throughout the Christmas season.  I’m still shooting for Super Bowl time to finish it up, before sending it out to my editor.  Look for some trailers to start floating around after the new year ….
