I’ve received the first 144 pages of redlines from my editor, Laura Vadney, and have already incorporated her suggestions.  Let me tell you, the story sounds even better adding her comments.  I’ll be sending the “finished” product to her this weekend for a final review, and I’m sure she’ll be sending me the next round of edits any day now.  Check my blog for more updates (theoverlords.blogspot .com).

 

On Friday, June 15th, I helped Karin Lord distribute the books to the 6th graders at St. Philomena’s in Portsmouth, RI.  The kids were excited to receive their books after four months of putting their work together.  I’d like to thank Karin for giving me this opportunity to work with her class, but on the same note, I’m sorry to say that she will be leaving St. Phil’s after this school year.  Good luck with everything you do, Karin!

 

The plane tickets have been purchased and the hotel reserved for my visit in August to the Valley of the Sun!  I don’t have any details yet on my agenda since many of the school officials are enjoying a much-needed post-school year break.  I’ll have more to tell about my visit to Phoenix next month.

I met with my artist, Colby Cook, last night and he showed me his book cover artwork for The Talisman of Unification – it looks awesome!  Colby was able to capture when I had envisioned in my mind, not a simple task I might add, and brought that to the canvas.  He still has some touch up work to do, but we’re ahead of schedule in that department.  Colby is also redoing the map, which will be in the next book as well.
