SCROLL OF THE OVERLORDS

Unraveling the Dark Secrets of the Overlords Mythology

Issue #45 January 8, 2008

What’s New

Happy 2008!  As you can see from the photo, The Overlords bandwagon is still rolling with sales of The Talisman of Unification hitting 85 since its release in mid-November.  I’m well ahead of my pace of Legend of the Treasure, which is also benefiting from the release of its sequel.  All in all, I’ve sold over 560 books combined -- thank you!!!

I want to thank everyone who made the Talisman of Unification launch party a big success -- I sold 22 books that day alone, almost a single-day high.  Colby Cook, my artist, had many of his fantasy drawings on display, and he also signed copies of the book for those lucky fans in attendance.  Special thanks goes out to my brother Steve and his wife Lynn for letting me use The Backroad Grille for my venue -- I’m sure I’ll be signing books there again soon.

My visit to Wilbur McMahon School in Little Compton, Rhode Island on 12/19 was a big success.  After giving a quick presentation on the “Concepts of Writing and Publishing” to about 50 students, we split the students in half and created three protagonists and antagonists for a fictitious storyline. The kids had a ball creating the creatures and a few young artists drew the monsters of their imagination.  A special thanks goes to Marianne Varieka for letting me come to their school, where I also signed copies for the school library, as well as selling another 12 books to students.

I’m still looking for people to write reviews for my books on Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com.  Here are the direct links to the sites:

Starting with my next event, I’ll have Overlord coffee mugs available for sale.  The mugs display one of the book covers on the front and contact information on the back.  Mugs will sell for $12, which will also be available via my website in the near future.

And as always, I’m still available to visit your child’s middle or high school -- feel free to have their teachers or librarians contact me or go to my Overlord Enterprises website for more details.

Upcoming Events

I will be lecturing at the University of Rhode Island on the “Concepts of Writing and Publishing” on January 23rd.  My good friend, Gail Alofsin, has again scheduled me to speak at her Dynamics of Business Marketing class, which proved to be a great success last year as well.

I’m currently setting up book signings at Barrington Books, March into Reading at Salve Regina University in Newport, RI, and T. F. Green Airport in Warwick, RI.  I’ll be sure to send out reminders of exact dates and times.  And, you can continue to get copies of both books at the Borders Bookstore in the Swansea Mall, as well as A Novel Idea, 450 Hope Street, Bristol, RI.
